York fights on after Article 50 is triggered
York for Europe commemorated the triggering of Article 50 on 29 March 2017 with a simultaneous banner drop, at or near the four city gates .
The day began with a protest by Cliffords tower where York Press and BBC Radio York were present. The day concluded with a rally outside York Minster and a rousing rendition of the EU anthem, Ode to Joy.
On 25 March 2017 dozens of York for Europe members joined tens of thousands of others at the Unite for Europe march in London.
The marcgh finished at a rally in Parliament Square which was addressed by politicians and others active in the Remain movement including Tim Farron, Alaistair Campbell and Nick Clegg.
On 4 March, York for Europe travelled North to Newcastle for a march and rally. Addresses were given by Richard Corbett MEP and AC Grayling. Music by Madeleina Kay and others.

York for Europe celebrate Human Rights Day with an address from Canon Precentor, Peter Moger.
Human Rights Day commemorates the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In 1950, the Assembly passed resolution 423 (V), inviting all States and interested organizations to observe 10 December of each year as Human Rights Day
